【About NTT DATA “Global Open Innovation Contest”】

The world faces various challenges such as poverty, hunger, health, sanitation, education, gender and national inequality, energy, climate change, nature destruction, maintenance of peace. In order to solve these problems, open innovation, in which people around the world collaborate across countries to create solutions with advanced technologies and new business models, is increasing in its importance. In particular, the SDGs adopted by the United Nations in 2015 emphasize the necessity not only for governments, non-profit organizations and NGOs but also for private enterprises to cooperate through business, and therefore concerns and efforts towards SDGs in Japan and abroad have increased.

NTT DATA's Global Open Innovation Contest establishes its evaluation axis for achieving SDGs as a part of the "SDGs Global Startup Program" with the Japan Innovation Network (JIN), to solve social problems through the contest and awards to excellent proposals. This is the eighth holding of the contest, and entrepreneurs have been produced by NTT DATA and the NTT group to solve many social issues.

GMS was announced the winner from 12 finalists after being evaluated for its social impact, novelty and growth potential. As a prize for winning the award, GMS will receive full support for its business development including the arrangement of a specialized team from NTT DATA.
